What is Hylon?
Hylon is a decentralized AI network built on top of the live OrbNet and OrbVPN product. It turns a million user owned devices and a community owned compute cluster into one self improving AI, private by construction and governed by its network.
How is it different from ChatGPT, Gemini, and other cloud assistants?
Those assistants run in a centralized cloud and meet you as a stranger each session. Hylon runs a Personal AI on your own device that learns your context locally, works in markets where the major assistants are blocked, and is owned by its network rather than by a lab's shareholders.
Does my data leave my device?
No. The Personal AI learns from your data locally and the raw data never leaves. Only privacy preserving learned signal is shared, through federated learning with differential privacy and secure aggregation, so no individual can be reconstructed.
Can my phone really train AI models?
No, and we do not pretend it can. Phones serve inference, personalize on device, and contribute data. Model training runs on datacenter grade GPU nodes coordinated over the internet. Every tier of device earns for work it can genuinely do.
Is this crypto mining?
No. Hylon is compute and data for AI, described plainly. Contributors earn ORB for verified work that the network actually sells, not for solving arbitrary puzzles and not for idle uptime.
What is ORB, and is it a security?
ORB is the network's utility and governance token, already live in production on Base. It is intended to function as a utility and governance token, with any offering conducted under applicable law with counsel and disclosures. Nothing on this site is an offer of securities or investment advice.
How do I earn?
Install the node client on your phone, PC, Mac, or GPU machine. The runtime profiles your device and assigns suitable work. You accrue rewards for verified contribution and claim them to a non custodial wallet when you choose.
What is the relationship to OrbVPN?
Hylon is the AI sibling of OrbVPN, built on the same live network and the same brand family. OrbVPN provides the users, the reach into censored markets, and the production token rails; Hylon adds the AI layer on top.
Will Hylon beat frontier models like Fable 5 or GPT?
Out competing every centralized lab is the destination. The path is staged and gate based: first be provably first where the labs cannot reach, on your context and in underserved markets, then compound toward the general frontier. We claim a capability only once its gate is crossed.
Which languages does it support?
English at launch, with the architecture built for the underserved languages at the heart of the strategy, including Farsi, Arabic, Russian, and Turkish, added over time.
When does it launch?
